What happened

In March 2026, Fruitful Rooster's founder and Creative Director, Charles T. Kellam, was racially profiled, harassed, and stalked by a store manager at Nordstrom Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He documented it and spoke publicly. Within days the account had been viewed 2.2M+ times — organically, zero paid spend — and the community began calling for #BoycottNordstrom indefinitely.

This isn't just a moment. A formal legal complaint has been filed — citing racial discrimination, ADA violation, harassment, and stalking — and Charles is pursuing full legal remedies while building something bigger: independence from retailers who don't see us, and a platform for Black-owned luxury, education, and mentorship.

You standing with us is what turns attention into accountability.

03 — Talking Points

“Why are you boycotting?”

The one-liner

“Nordstrom racially profiled a Black business owner in their own store. I don't spend where I'm not safe or seen.”

If they want the story

“Charles Kellam — founder of Fruitful Rooster — was profiled, harassed, and stalked by a manager at Nordstrom Scottsdale. It's documented, it's public, and there's a formal legal complaint. 2 million people watched it happen.”

The reframe (make it aspirational)

“This isn't just about walking away from one store — it's about spending with intention and building Black-owned luxury that actually sees us. Wearable art > the thing.”

The ask (recruit one more)

“Grab the free Statement Kit, post one graphic, and tag one person who needs to see it. That's it. That's how this grows.”
